The Viking Observer

Welcome to The Viking Observer! This is a blog where we will discuss everything from major political events to more trivial matters. We’ll write about issues in both the contemporary world as well as historical ones. We want to stress the fact though that everything being published here are our own opinions and/or theories.

In other words, we are not claiming to sit on some universal truth regarding the state of the world. However, political correctness and people getting offended over our posts is something that we strongly discourage. Or in the words of Ricky Gervais: “Just because you’re offended doesn’t mean you’re right.”

We have chosen the name “The Viking Observer” since our main writer is Swedish and lives a nomadic life. Some of the various experiences encountered during his trips will be shared in the blog.

Here at The Viking Observer, we believe in open but civilized debate. We think that everyone has the right to voice their opinions. We believe that this is the best way forward. Political correctness is something that only make people afraid of voicing their actual opinions. That does not lead to a healthy society. It might very well even be behind a lot of the problems in today’s world.

Can you participate in a debate without getting offended when someone voice an opinion that is different from yours? Then we are looking forward to share our thoughts and theories with you.

However, if you are not capable of doing that, then this is not the right place for you. We believe in real democracy and free-speech. That does not include the fake versions where media and politicians decide what opinions are acceptable and not. If our way of doing things sound like something for you, then enjoy the ride!
